EQUALITY by Bootenhoven EQUALITY by Bootenhoven
A simple symbol I came up with to promote the idea of racial equality.

Three equally-sized lines next to each other, symbolising three skin pigments and surrounded by 60 "stars", each 10 big stars and each 10 little stars carry one of the skin pigments on display here, so that even all the stars were equal in number and size as well.

If you don't know why I'm doing this, I'll give you a fair idea on why. Basically, I feel DA has a shocking amount of support for people who support ideals that are very pro-racism and pro-discrimination, ideals that threaten the basic human right of racial equality we have today, and no action is taken against these people whatsoever for their open displays of racial hatred. From this, I wanted to try and bring more positive awareness back to the idea of racial equality on here to try and combat what those who disagree with these ideals are trying to promote through manipulative, even subliminal means.

This is also the first thing I've ever posted on here that's under a Creative-Commons share-alike license. This is entirely intentional, I'd like to grant people the opportunity to use this however they want. I don't even mind not getting credit for this symbol, so long as it spreads round and so long as people understand the messages its trying to deliver from it.

Anyhoo, enough sqwarking, enjoy. I know its very minimalist for me, but who says minimalism is a bad thing? I mean its a nicer alternative this way than, hey, if I were to put terrible, pro-racism emblems subliminally in every single pic I draw that's mean't to be adorable, right? ;)

- Eric Boot.

...wait, why am I even putting one of these on here? This is share-alike Creative Commons, do whatever the fudge you want with this!

Thankfully I appear to have avoided most of that stuff, worse I've ever seen is somebody upload a picture of one of their characters in blackface as part of an April Fools joke. Because, ya know, that rips all the offense right out of it...not. Eye Roll  SO EDGY.

Mind, you were going for minimalism, but some might not like keeping it to just three skin tones. Your sentiment remains however. I figured there were a few bigoted aholes running around these parts (it is the internet after all), but I was unaware of it beng a larger problem.

Funny enough, I just saw a user promoting stuff like "The white race is Nature's highest creation."

I really like this piece. Well made, very simple, but very clear.

Oh dear, I feel sorry for them. =P Though hey, all the more reason for me to make this for those who DON'T follow that logic.

Thanks for faving! Feel free to use this symbol/pic however you want too. :D

I'm as white as they come, and I despise those white supre- I can't spell the word, you know what I mean.
Especially if they rag about race-mixing and all that stuff...

Thank you! ovo

Well if you wanna know what I am, I'm white too. My heritage is English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish so yeah, I'm around that same sort of ball park too. I'm just genuinely sick of DA allowing pro-racist guff to exist without any sort of concequence, like it isn't a big deal. There are genuinely artists out there who make the most intentionally adorable and cutesy and shiny art you could imagine and in every single pic they do now, they shove in references to pro-racism and pro-discrimination groups like they're selling them to these people who like the art because its cute like a Coca-Cola salesman would with Coca-Cola. It genuinely sickens me.

ESPECIALLY since this site has far better uses for that and I'd assume the community at large would be better than that. I'd say more but I've run my mouth over this stuff so many times in the past day already both here and outside of DA that I fear I'll sound like a broken record.

Nevertheless, you're welcome! :D
